In the Ternopil region, a scheme for evading mobilisation, involving the director of a medical institution, was exposed. Operatives of the 7th Border Carpathian Detachment along with migration police and investigators of the National Police uncovered the wrongful activities of this official.
The investigation revealed that the head organised fictitious medical documents, which allowed men to avoid mobilisation and cross the state border without hindrance. The documents pertained to the care of persons with disabilities, costing 5,000 US dollars.
The law enforcement officers established that the scheme was systematic. During searches, documentation with evidential value for the investigation was seized. The perpetrator has been charged under Part 3 of Article 332 and Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning the illegal transfer of persons across the state border and receipt of undue benefit. The investigation continues under the guidance of the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
