Appropriation of almost UAH 1.3 million during the construction of a road in Sudova Vyshna – the director of the contractor company and the technical supervision engineer are suspected
Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, the director of the contractor company was informed of the suspicion of misappropriation of budget funds (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the company headed by the suspect did not fully repair the highway in Sudova Vyshna, on the order of one of the city councils of the Lviv region, and as a result appropriated UAH 1.3 million of budget funds.
The man was declared wanted in connection with his departure outside Ukraine. Currently, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, the court has issued a decision on his detention with the purpose of pretext for choosing a preventive measure.
Also, under the procedural leadership of the prosecutors of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, the technical supervision engineer was informed of the suspicion of official negligence that caused serious consequences (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect, exercising the authority of technical supervision, signed the act of acceptance of the completed construction works for the object of repair of the above-mentioned highway, while not properly checking the completeness of the work performed by the subcontractor.
Thus, losses totaling almost UAH 1.3 million were caused to the state.
Investigative actions are ongoing, the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the VP 2 LRUP 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Lviv region, under the operational support of USR employees in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
