Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the manager of one of the communal enterprises of the Lviv Oblast was detained and informed of suspicion for demanding and receiving an unlawful benefit (part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the official demanded an illegal benefit for the provision of land works services using the utility company’s special equipment, without concluding relevant contracts and making official payment.
The cost of such a service was more than UAH 46,000.
The law enforcement officers detained the suspect in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine when accepting a bribe.
Investigations are currently ongoing. The issue of removing him from his position is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Lviv Region, based on the materials of the SBU Office in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
