The offender was exposed by officers of the Zolochiv District Police Department under the supervision of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office.

As law enforcement officers established, in 2020, the defendant, who at that time held the position of the head of a village council in Zolochiv district, forged a will on behalf of his deceased fellow villager, in which he stated that the woman had allegedly bequeathed him all her property. In particular, the forged document referred to a land plot of 1.74 hectares.

Subsequently, taking advantage of his official position, the village head certified this false document, accepted the inheritance, took over the management of the property and performed other legal actions, thus taking possession of the said land share, the value of which is about UAH 900 thousand.
