At the Ukrainian-Polish border crossing point “Krakivets”, border guards encountered a rather ingenious smuggling scheme. During the inspection of a lorry driven by a 43-year-old Polish citizen, they discovered, with the aid of an X-ray, 106 packets of cigarettes hidden under a table and in the vehicle’s structural cavities. Additionally, 10 litres of vodka were found in the walls of the vehicle, as reported by the Karpatskyi Detachment.
The goods had excise stamps, although some were missing. To document the violation, appropriate administrative materials were prepared in cooperation with customs officers.
