Boryslav community to regain production building of bankrupt company

In Boryslav, by court decision, the territorial community will receive into municipal ownership a non-residential production building belonging to a bankrupt company. This was reported by the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office.

The matter concerns premises with an area of over 320 sq. m, located in Boryslav. The assessed value of the building is about UAH 2.6 million. It previously belonged to a local company that provided services in the field of road haulage and the organisation of construction of real estate facilities. In 2017 this company went bankrupt.

Prosecutors established that more than a year had passed since this ownerless property was registered by the city council, and during this time no one had claimed ownership of the building. Under the law, such property is subject to transfer into the municipal ownership of the territorial community, which became the basis for the prosecutor’s office to apply to the court.

The Boryslav City Court agreed with the arguments of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office and fully upheld the claim to recognise the right of municipal ownership of the specified building.

Once the decision enters into legal force, the prosecutor’s office intends to take measures to ensure its actual enforcement and the formalisation of the community’s title to this property.
