The head of the regional prosecutor’s office visited a camp for keeping prisoners of war

Issues of compliance with the norms of international law regarding the treatment of prisoners of war are under constant control of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

On February 13, the head of the regional prosecutor’s office Hennadiy Demchenko visited the West 1 Prisoner of War Camp.

During the visit, it was established that the camp complies with the requirements of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War and the Procedure for Holding Prisoners of War regarding the material, household and medical support of prisoners of war, the organization of their food, social and educational work, as well as other guaranteed rights.

During the communication with the prisoners of war, the latter did not express complaints about the order and conditions of stay in the camp.
