Law enforcement officers exposed the head of one of the village councils in Lviv Oblast for abuse of office
As a result of the illegal actions of the official during the illegal transfer of land plots from communal to private ownership, losses in the amount of almost one million hryvnias were caused to the state.
The perpetrator was exposed by employees of the investigative department of the Lviv Oblast Police together with operatives of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Oblast, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office.
As the law enforcement officers established, in 2020, the head of one of the village councils of the Yavoriv district, abusing her official position and intending to illegally transfer two plots of land with a total area of almost 0.2 ha and a total value of about one million hryvnias to the ownership of the villagers, agreed to the relevant decisions of the village council , which led to the illegal transfer of the specified plots into private ownership. At the same time, the chairwoman reliably knew that at the time of her adoption of these decisions, the village council was already included in the composition of the Lviv OTG, and therefore the decision to approve the land management project and the transfer of these land plots should have been decided at the relevant sessions of the Lviv City Council.
The law enforcement officers informed the perpetrator that she was suspected of having committed criminal offenses under Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 364 (Abuse of Power or Official Position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty that the suspect faces is imprisonment for a term of up to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, with a fine of five hundred to one thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens.
