Former Head of Lviv Region Village Council Suspected of Negligence

The former head of the village council in the Lviv district is suspected of official negligence, which resulted in losses amounting to nearly 800,000 UAH.

According to the investigation, due to the suspect’s negligence, a land plot of 0.1 hectares was unlawfully removed from communal ownership. The plot is located on the planned part of the road near Lviv, where a traffic junction is planned, and therefore it cannot be transferred to private ownership.

A local resident developed a land management project to obtain the plot in ownership. The suspect inadequately performed his duties, failed to ensure proper documentation checks, and approved the land management project. He also did not consider the restrictions set by the village’s General Plan.

As a result of these actions, the territorial community suffered damages amounting to nearly 800,000 UAH. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, with all persons involved in the illegal activity being identified. The issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect is being addressed.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, an individual is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until proven guilty in a legal manner and confirmed by a court verdict.
