Prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office have submitted to the court a case concerning a former senior state inspector of the transport safety supervision department in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
He is charged with receiving unlawful benefits. “The investigation has established that the official organized a scheme of systematic bribery,” reports the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The inspector received bribes from a man responsible for the transportation of timber products. In exchange for monthly payments, he guaranteed the unhindered transportation of timber and the avoidance of fines for drivers.
In two months, the accused received 20,000 hryvnias. He has since been dismissed from his position. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations in Lviv, with support from the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine.
