Law enforcement officers in Lviv region have informed a former official of ‘Lvivgaz’ of suspicion in abuses amounting to nearly 3.7 million hryvnias.
According to the investigation, the suspect input false data into the calculations of gas loss volumes, which led to an overestimation of the gas distribution services tariff. As a result, he appropriated funds from several municipal enterprises amounting to a total of 3,687,856 hryvnias.
The perpetrator was exposed by investigators from the department of general criminality crimes of the Lviv region police in cooperation with SBU operatives in Lviv region. The suspect faces up to twelve years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
He is charged with crimes under Part 5 of Article 191 and Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation continues.
