At the border checkpoint ‘Shehyni-Medyka’, a MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER vehicle was heading to Poland for inspection. The driver chose the ‘green corridor’, which is intended for goods that do not require mandatory declaration.
During a detailed inspection, customs officials discovered a disguised air conditioner without a cooling system in the luggage compartment of the vehicle. Inside, 75 blocks of cigarettes and 4 blocks of IQOS sticks were concealed.
In connection with this incident, customs officers drew up an administrative report in accordance with Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The vehicle and goods have been temporarily seized pending a court decision.
