Kyiv Resident Injured During Mountain Walk Near Korostiv

An evening walk on Mount Plishka near the village of Korostiv ended in injury for one of the travellers. On 13 March, a 21-year-old resident of Kyiv injured his leg during the descent, making it impossible for him to continue the route on his own. Rescuers from the Slavske Mountain Search and Rescue Group quickly responded to the call, according to a report from the Lviv Regional State Emergency Service.

At the scene, the injured person was given first aid, with the injured knee being stabilised using a splint. The rescuers transported the young man by off-road vehicle to the base of the mountain, where an ambulance team was already waiting for him.

Residents are advised to assess their physical capabilities before embarking on mountain excursions, choosing routes that match their level of preparation. It is important to have the appropriate equipment, not to travel alone, and always to carry a charged phone. In case of emergency, dial 101.
