Prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office have completed a pre-trial investigation concerning a 30-year-old resident of Kyiv, accused of selling counterfeit goods.
It has been established that since July 2024, the man has been supplying excise goods across the entire territory of Ukraine. Specifically, through social networks, the Kyiv resident sold wholesale and retail batches of electronic cigarettes and liquids for them. To distribute the counterfeit goods, he used express delivery from one of the postal operators.
During investigative actions, more than 22,000 electronic cigarettes, nearly 3,000 containers with smoking liquids, mobile phones, and rough notes were seized from the accused. As a result of the pre-trial investigation, he is incriminated with the acquisition and storage with the intent of selling illegally manufactured excise goods (Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Lviv region. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until proven guilty in a legally established manner and determined by a court’s guilty verdict.
