Lviv Woman Forged Documents to Obtain Compensation

In Lviv, a woman will be tried for forging documents about her daughter’s illness to obtain compensation.

Throughout 2023-2024, the accused illegally received payments from the state budget for non-existent services through the ‘Municipal Nanny’ program. Law enforcement officers established that the 36-year-old Lviv resident provided fake documents about the alleged severe illness of her young child and concluded a fake contract ‘On the Provision of Childcare Services up to Three Years – Municipal Nanny’. Based on this, she received compensation for non-existent nanny services, supposedly caring for a sick child.

The total damage to the state budget amounts to nearly 200,000 hryvnias. The perpetrator was exposed by criminal police operatives and investigators from Lviv District Police Department No. 2, under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal case, opened under Part 2 of Article 190 (Fraud) and Part 5 of Article 27 – Part 3 of Article 358, Part 4 of Article 358 (Aiding in Forgery of Documents, Seals, Stamps, and Forms, Selling or Using Forged Documents, Seals, Stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, is completed. The indictment has been referred to the court. The maximum punishment provided by the articles’ sanctions is imprisonment for up to five years or confinement for the same period.

Regarding the person who facilitated the issuance of fake certificates about the severe illness of the accused’s young child, a separate criminal proceeding has been initiated. The pre-trial investigation continues.
