
A woman in Lviv will stand trial for keeping cannabis with the intent to sell.
During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers established that a 31-year-old resident of Lviv had acquired a significant batch of the narcotic substance, intending to package it and sell it by making ‘stashes’ around the city. The offender also kept cannabis extract for personal use without intent to distribute.
The pre-trial investigation, initiated under Part 1 of Article 307 (‘Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer, or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogs’) and Part 1 of Article 309 (‘Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogs without intent to distribute’) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, has been completed. The indictment has been sent to court.
The maximum penalty provided by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for up to eight years. The offender was uncovered by operatives from the Lviv Narcotics Police and investigators from the Lviv District Police Department No.1. The Galytska District Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the proceedings.
