In Lviv, a man is set to be tried for allegedly organizing the illegal border crossing of a conscripted individual.
As established by law enforcement during the pre-trial investigation, for 18,000 dollars, a 50-year-old Lviv resident undertook to organize the fabrication of a set of fake employment documents for the ‘client’ in one of the international organizations, which would allow him to avoid conscription and cross the state border of Ukraine under martial law conditions.
The pre-trial investigation, initiated under part 3 of article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, has been completed. The indictment has been directed to the court for consideration.
The article’s sanction provides for a punishment of imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years, with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.
The perpetrator was exposed by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, in cooperation with operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
