Lviv Resident Deceives Odesa Citizen Out of 85 Thousand Hryvnias

In Lviv, a man will be tried for deceiving a resident of Odesa out of nearly 85 thousand hryvnias. The victim approached the 32-year-old Lviv resident, who promised to assist with the purchase and delivery of a car. They agreed on the purchase of a Nissan car valued at over 3 thousand euros.

As law enforcement officers discovered, the seller did not have the car and had no intention of selling it. He demanded that the Odesa resident transfer money supposedly for the registration and delivery of the car. The fraudster spent the received funds on personal needs and stopped answering calls.

After the victim reported to the police, investigators from the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the guidance of the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, identified the accused. The pre-trial investigation is complete, and the indictment has been submitted to the court. The maximum penalty the accused faces is up to three years of restricted liberty.
