Lviv Resident Under Investigation for Arms Trafficking from Prison

In the Lviv region, a large-scale arms trade has been discovered, organised by a 45-year-old Lviv resident who is currently in a correctional facility. He coordinated the sale of weapons, negotiating the assortment, hiding places, and transactions with “clients”. The Lviv resident used bank transfers to receive payment and amassed nearly a quarter of a million hryvnias for weapons and ammunition.

Investigators from the Lviv District Police Department, in conjunction with the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region, uncovered several episodes of his activities. During a search of his cell, communication devices and other evidence were seized.

The suspect has been charged with illegal handling of weapons, which carries a penalty of imprisonment from three to seven years — National Police of Ukraine

. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the origin of the weapons is being established.
