A resident of Lviv is suspected of publicly using and spreading symbols of the communist regime

Under the procedural leadership of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, a 58-year-old man was notified of suspicion for the distribution and public use of communist symbols (Part 1 of Article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in Lviv during 2021, a local resident, using his own account on the banned Odnoklassniki social network, posted publications containing the propaganda of communist ideology.

In particular, the suspect in his content distributed text inscriptions with communist symbols in the form of the coat of arms of the USSR and a portrait of Lenin, etc.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the Lviv District Office No. 2 of the Main Office of the National Police in the Lviv Region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
