A resident of Lviv will be tried for public use and distribution of symbols of the communist regime

The Frankiv district prosecutor’s office of the city of Lviv sent an indictment to the court against a 45-year-old man from Lviv on the facts of spreading and publicly using the symbols of the communist totalitarian regime (Part 1 of Article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that during 2017-2022, the man, through his own account in the banned social network “Vkontakte”, posted publications containing signs of propaganda of the communist totalitarian regime and images of communist symbols, as well as portraits of Lenin and Stalin.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by the investigators of the Lviv District Office No. 2 of the State Government of the NP in the Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
