In Boryslav, an 18-year-old local resident was uncovered, who had already received a suspended sentence for fraud just two months ago, but has repeated the deception. This time he used a friend’s phone, who had given him access to install a banking app due to damage to his own device.
Instead of deleting the programme, as the owner asked, the young man decided with the new access to transfer funds totalling 9,000 UAH to his own accounts. This is not the first time he has committed such actions: in November last year, he was already convicted of a similar crime, but the court only imposed a suspended sentence.
Under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv, the suspect has been held accountable for fraud and intrusion into automated systems, committed repeatedly. Lviv’s District Police Department No. 2 is conducting a pre-trial investigation of the case.
