In Brody, a man was detained for attempting to blow up a serviceman due to a domestic conflict.
According to the investigation, on November 10, a 48-year-old resident of Brody attempted to kill his acquaintance. The man, being intoxicated, came to the home of a 40-year-old serviceman. In the yard, their conversation escalated into a domestic quarrel over borrowed construction equipment, which the suspect refused to return.
To avoid escalation, the serviceman tried to leave. At this moment, the suspect took out a grenade from under his jacket, pulled the pin, and threw it at his interlocutor. The victim, having military training, quickly reacted, leapt away, and hid behind an earthen mound. Thanks to this, he avoided injuries and called the police.
After the explosion, the attacker fled, but was quickly detained by law enforcement under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Under the procedural guidance of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office, he was charged with attempted murder, committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of many, as well as illegal handling of explosive devices.
