Yavoriv Resident to Stand Trial for Assaulting Mother and Mother-in-Law

Prosecutors in Lviv have sent to court a case against a 40-year-old man who assaulted his mother and mother-in-law.

In early November, the accused, in a state of alcoholic intoxication, assaulted his mother in Yavoriv. He attempted to strangle her, but she managed to free herself. The conflict occurred during the victim’s phone call with her daughter, who called the police. Afterward, the man left the house but returned and attacked his mother again.

In the morning, the woman was able to leave the apartment and sought help from a neighbor. As a result of the assault, she sustained facial and head injuries, including fractures of the nose and cheekbones.

That same day, the man went to Lviv, where he assaulted his mother-in-law. During the argument, he pushed her and then continued to punch her on the head. The victim was hospitalized with facial bone fractures and chest contusions.

The assailant is charged with causing serious and minor bodily injuries. He is currently in custody.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven legally and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
