A 23-year-old resident of Novyi Rozdil has been sentenced to 6 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of all his property for drug dealing and unlawful possession of ammunition. This was reported by the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
The court established that during 2025–2026 the man had been dealing in cannabis, using postal consignments for this purpose. In particular, he sent a parcel containing cannabis to the “Lviv Penal Institution (No.19)”, hiding the drug inside a roll-on antiperspirant.
In this way, the convicted man attempted to pass on almost 10 g of cannabis to an acquaintance serving a sentence. The prohibited substance was detected and seized by staff of the correctional facility, so the intended recipient did not receive it.
In addition, the man sent another parcel containing almost 60 g of cannabis to a different “customer” in Lviv. Since the buyer was at liberty, the drug was not disguised – it was packed in an ordinary cardboard box.
During searches of the convicted man’s home, law enforcement officers found cartridges for automatic weapons of various models. He was charged with the acquisition and possession of ammunition without the permit required by law, as well as the unlawful acquisition and possession of narcotic drugs for the purpose of supply, and their supply, including to a place of detention (Part 1 of Article 263, Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation in the case was conducted by Police Station No.2 of the Stryi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region. The court’s verdict will come into legal force after the time limit for lodging an appeal has expired.
