
A resident of Pustomyty District is suspected of murdering his acquaintance out of jealousy in Lviv.
Under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv, a previously convicted 34-year-old resident of Pustomyty District was informed of suspicion. He is incriminated with premeditated murder (Part 1, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in August this year in Lviv, the suspect killed his acquaintance. Reportedly, on that day they were at friends’ apartment drinking alcohol. Under the influence of alcohol and out of jealousy, a sudden conflict arose between them, during which the man started beating the woman with his hands and feet on her head, face, and body. However, he did not stop there and decided to strangle the still conscious woman. The victim died on the spot from the injuries inflicted.
Law enforcement authorities detained the suspect the next day under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of selecting a preventive measure in the form of detention is being considered. Investigative actions continue. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigators of Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Administration No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court conviction.
