
During the pre-trial investigation conducted by the investigative department of the Sambir District police unit, it was established that a 29-year-old resident of the Sambir region committed a series of criminal offences between November 2025 and January 2026. The court sentenced him to 7 years and 2 months imprisonment.
In December 2025, he had already been convicted of a property crime with a 5-year suspended sentence. However, while under probation, he continued his illicit activities. He broke into a utility room of a residential building in Sambir and stole power tools and extension cords worth nearly 10,000 UAH, and later attempted to steal goods from a shop but was noticed by the shop assistant.
He was also found in possession of an RGO hand grenade with a fuse and narcotic substances – cannabis and methadone in various forms. He was charged with theft, repeated robbery, unlawful handling of ammunition, and possession of drugs without intent to distribute (part 4 of article 185, part 4 of article 186, part 1 of article 263, part 1 of article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court’s verdict will come into legal force after the period for appeal expires. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Sambir District police department.
