A 41-year-old man from the Skole district has been found guilty of domestic violence under Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The conviction followed public prosecution efforts by the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
The court sentenced the man to 2 years and 1 month of imprisonment.
According to the case details, the convicted individual repeatedly inflicted psychological abuse on his former mother-in-law, with whom he shared a residence.
He frequently initiated conflicts, insulting the woman, yelling loudly, and using profanities. Additionally, he often threatened the elderly woman with physical violence.
These unlawful actions caused significant psychological suffering to the victim, deteriorating her quality of life.
Notably, the man had prior convictions for domestic violence but failed to reform and continued to commit offenses.
