A resident of Striy is suspected of illegally modifying weapons and storing ammunition. This year, a 51-year-old man purchased a starter pistol, which he later converted into a combat weapon, and also manufactured ammunition. The weapon was sold for 7,000 UAH.
During a search of the house, materials and means for manufacturing weapons were seized, along with a live F-1 fragmentation hand grenade. The suspect has been charged with the illegal acquisition and storage of explosive substances, as well as weapon modification, according to Part 1 of Article 263 and Part 2 of Article 263-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court has selected a preventive measure in the form of detention with an option for bail. The investigation is being conducted by the Lviv police under the direction of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office.
