A resident of Zolochiv is suspected of illegal methadone trafficking.
According to the investigation, in October – November of this year, a 40-year-old man was involved in the sale of methadone. The tablets, received through substitution therapy for drug addicts, were sold at his home for cash. “Under the procedural supervision of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office, he has been charged with illegal possession with the intent to sell and illegal sale of narcotic drugs” (parts 1, 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). At the request of the prosecution side, a preventive measure of detention with the right to bail has been chosen for the suspect.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the Zolochiv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region, with operational support from the SCP of the Zolochiv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proved in a legal manner and established by a court conviction.
