A previously convicted 38-year-old man was found guilty of robbery (Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) following a public accusation by the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv.
The court sentenced him to 7 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
Prosecutors proved in court that in September 2022, a resident of Chernivtsi stole a mobile phone in one of the districts of Lviv.
The convict approached an 18-year-old boy who was walking down the street and asked what time it was. The victim pulled out his phone to look at his watch.
The extra saw the phone and decided to steal it, he snatched the mobile from the victim’s hands, pushed him and ran away with the stolen item.
However, thanks to the coordinated work of the law enforcement officers, he was found and detained on the same day.
