In the Lviv district on the road between the villages of Zapytiv and Staryi Yarychiv a traffic accident occurred, as a result of which two people were injured, the Lviv Region Police reported.
The accident happened on 28 May at about 06:00. According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, a 45-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz car, a resident of Kyiv, lost control, drove onto the roadside, where the car overturned.
The passengers of the car – residents of Dnipro aged 29 and 31 – sustained bodily injuries. They were taken to a medical facility.
Investigators of the department for the investigation of transport-related crimes of the Lviv region police have opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules or the operation of transport by persons driving vehicles. The article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, with possible disqualification from driving for up to three years or without such a measure.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
