Fake offers for purchasing medical certificates for drivers are being spread on the internet.
Such offers appear through social networks, messengers, dubious websites, or even as advertisements with appealing phrases – “official certificate without medical commission,” “quick and inexpensive,” “with a guarantee of registration in the database.”
“The medical certificate regarding the fitness to drive vehicles is issued exclusively in medical institutions that have a valid license for medical practice. No intermediary or ‘online service’ has the right to issue such documents,” reminds the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The cyber police record incidents where fraudsters create phishing pages visually copying official resources of state institutions or medical centers. By entering their personal data and making a payment, the user not only loses money but also risks falling victim to identity theft – passport data, identification codes, photos, or bank card numbers. After paying for the “service,” the fraudsters cease communication or send fake documents that have no legal validity.
The use of such “certificates” may lead to administrative or criminal liability for using deliberately forged documents.
The main service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the cyber police advise: obtain medical certificates only at health institutions that have a license (which can be checked in the register of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine); never send your personal data to third parties or on suspicious sites; do not trust ads on social networks, even if the page looks official; if you have become a victim of fraud, immediately file an electronic complaint to the cyber police via the link or call 102.
