In the Chernivtsi region, a 40-year-old head of a district branch of one of the territorial recruitment and social support centres was exposed. He promised to assist with the documentation for exemption from military service and removal from the register in exchange for a financial reward. The officer proposed an alternative, albeit illegal, route to the conscript — the preparation of medical documents based on the establishment of a disability group for subsequent removal from the military register.
An acquaintance approached the official with a request to extend a student’s deferment due to studies; however, due to changes in the legislation, this became problematic. Consequently, another scheme was proposed to avoid service.
