The Office of the Prosecutor General continues its systematic work to rid the country of a network of illegal call centers. This was reported by SpecprokuraturaZahidRegion. Combating cyber fraud today is not just a fight against crime, but a strategic element of the state’s digital security.
Yesterday, prosecutors conducted 27 searches in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The scale of the uncovered activities is astounding even for experienced law enforcement officers: the offices had over 1500 workstations. Every day, each employee made about 100 calls to potential victims, using methods of psychological pressure.
The perpetrators acted on behalf of investment companies and brokerage platforms. Promising ‘guaranteed and quick profits,’ the fraudsters convinced people to invest money. In some cases, dummy platforms were used to mislead, showing victims fake growth of their ‘investments’ and virtual profits.
In reality, all received funds were immediately transferred to accounts controlled by the organizers. Victims of the ‘quick investment’ schemes included citizens of Ukraine, Europe, and Asia. Their number is estimated to be in the hundreds.
During the investigative actions, 1500 units of computer equipment, nearly 500 mobile phones, server equipment, and other material evidence of criminal activity were seized. The investigation continues. The full circle of organizers and participants in the scheme is being established.
The fight against cyber fraud, including the activities of illegal call centers, has gained national scale. A significant portion of such structures operates for an international audience. Since July 2025, nearly 800 searches have been conducted throughout the country, 150 of which were part of international cooperation with foreign partners. As a result, more than 25,000 units of equipment have been seized.
Our goal is not just to stop individual calls but to completely dismantle the infrastructure of this shadow business. Everyone involved in deceiving people under the guise of ‘investment projects’ will be held accountable according to the law. We keep working.
