Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Drohobytsk District Prosecutor’s Office, 5 members of an organized criminal group were notified of suspicion of illegal drug sales (part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, a 54-year-old resident of one of the villages of Drogobych region organized a criminal scheme for the sale of methadone in the city of Boryslav and other settlements of the district. He involved his friends – four local residents – in the “business”.
Four members of the criminal group were engaged in searching for customers, received money for the goods, after payment, went to collect the goods to the organizer of the group, and the actual transfer of drugs was carried out according to a prior agreement with customers, directly from hand to hand during a personal meeting, thus performing the function of “drug couriers “. The organizer, in turn, ensured the supply of drugs.
During the searches, mobile phones, bank cards, money received for the sale of drugs and other material evidence were found and seized from the suspects.
Investigative actions are ongoing, the issue of appointing a number of forensic examinations is being resolved.
At the prosecutor’s request, the most severe preventive measure was chosen for all suspects – detention without bail.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Drohobytsk District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
