In Drohobych, police detained a driver who hit a 14-year-old girl while being intoxicated
The road accident occurred on 29 August at 21.35 on Volodymyr the Great Street in Drohobych.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Ford Fusion, a 30-year-old resident of Drohobych, lost control, drove onto the sidewalk and hit a 14-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the girl was injured and hospitalised.
It was established that the driver was driving the vehicle in a state of intoxication. She was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the court will soon choose a type of detention.
Investigators of the Drohobych District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for imprisonment for up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
