A 48-year-old man has been exposed in Khmelnytskyi region, who promised to resolve the issue of returning to service without consequences.
Under the guidance of the Khmelnytskyi specialized prosecutor’s office in the defense sphere of the Western region, a local resident has been detained. He offered military personnel assistance in reinstatement to service after unauthorized absence (UA) for a monetary reward. The man claimed he had connections in the military law enforcement service and could avoid punishment.
He was arrested according to Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine while receiving 6,500 US dollars from a serviceman. The detainee has been charged with influence peddling under Part 3 Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and has been placed under arrest with the option of posting bail exceeding 240,000 hryvnias. The investigation is ongoing to establish the full circle of involved parties.
