An organized group that embezzled budget funds during the procurement of bread for the military will be tried in the Khmelnytskyi region.
Prosecutors have sent an indictment to court against a former deputy battalion commander, an associated entrepreneur, and his accountant. They are accused of misappropriating funds intended for the military personnel.
The accomplices created an illegal scheme to inflate the procurement volumes of bread in documentation. The funds were withdrawn using fictitious invoices and distributed among the participants. Over the duration of the scheme, they earned about one million hryvnias.
An officer’s subordinate, who reported the illegal actions of his colleagues, helped uncover the scheme.
