Russian souvenirs have been seized at the checkpoint \”Shehyni\” border crossing.
Border guards from the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment discovered an unusual delivery during the inspection of a Mercedes minibus. Among personal belongings in the trunk were a samovar with a bear image, a porcelain teapot, a decorative plate, and a handmade candy bowl, all of Russian origin.
The driver, a 39-year-old resident of Chernivtsi, explained that he received these items in Italy for delivery to Chernivtsi. \”What the purpose of this excursion into ‘Russian style’ was is unknown, but what is known is this: the items were seized, and a protocol was drawn up on the driver,\” the border guards noted.
