Criminal Group Detained People Unveiled in Kyiv Region

A criminal group in the Kyiv region, operating under the guise of a rehabilitation center, has been dismantled for holding people in slavery.

Operatives from the Migration Police Department, in collaboration with units of the National Police of Kyiv region, neutralized a group that forcibly detained 58 citizens. The criminal scheme was organized by the head of a public organization, involving the co-founder of the same NGO as his ‘right-hand man’, three other individuals who acted as supervisors-guards, and nine more people.

The victims were beaten, intimidated, isolated from the outside world, administered potent drugs, and forced into hard physical labor. The suspects earned about one million hryvnias per month from the exploitation of people.

During the special operation, 16 individuals, including a minor, were rescued. All of them are receiving necessary assistance. The organizer and accomplices have already been charged with human trafficking and torture.

No pseudo-social projects will serve as a cover for crimes against humans. We respond harshly and systematically. The guilty must be punished.
