In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers detained a suspect accused of illegal cross-border transfer.
It was established that a 44-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district organized a border crossing for a conscript citizen for 15,000 dollars. This took place outside the checkpoints during martial law.
The defendant was exposed by Lviv police investigators in collaboration with the SBU operatives and the prosecutor’s office. The offender provided instructions and organized transport to the crossing point. Initially, a deposit of 42,000 hryvnias was transferred, and on August 12 – 14,000 dollars.
Law enforcement officers detained the ‘transferor’ according to the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine. He has been notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article stipulates imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation continues. The court chose a preventive measure – detention with the possibility of bail.
