
A man in Lviv region will be prosecuted for attempting to murder an acquaintance.
It was established that the accused, who had previously been brought to criminal responsibility, inflicted a knife wound to the victim’s neck following a remark. The injured party survived due to timely medical assistance. The perpetrator faces up to fifteen years of imprisonment for his actions.
The event occurred on the night of July 21 on Kozatska Street in the city of Pustomyty. A conflict arose between two local residents, aged 26 and 44, during which the older man, intending to kill, stabbed the younger man in the neck and then fled. Fortunately, medics, called to the scene by witnesses, managed to save the injured man’s life.
To solve the crime, detectives from the criminal police, investigators, and other officers from police station No. 3 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 were involved. Through their efforts, law enforcement officers determined the perpetrator’s whereabouts and arrested him.
The pre-trial investigation, opened under the procedural guidance of the Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office under part 2 of article 15 and part 1 of article 115 (Attempted murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, has been completed. The indictment has been sent to the court for consideration. The accused faces a punishment of imprisonment for a term of seven to fifteen years.
