
The Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office achieved a conviction of a 23-year-old resident of Chernihiv for the illegal acquisition, storage, and transportation of psychotropic substances with the intent to sell in particularly large volumes (Part 3, Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The defendant was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The investigation found that in April 2024, the man stored and transported the banned substance PVP with the intent to sell it.
- A police officer noticed a suspicious Volkswagen car near the village of Myklashiv in the Lviv district.
- The driver was nervous and behaving suspiciously, which caught the officer’s attention.
- Bottles with white powder were found in a backpack on the back seat.
The investigative team seized over 4.3 kg of PVP from hidden compartments in the car. The market value of the psychotropic substance exceeds 5 million UAH.
Until the verdict is legally enforced, the accused will remain in custody. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Lviv region police. The verdict will become effective after the appeal period expires.
