In the Lviv region, four doctors are accused of forging medical documents.
Prosecutors from the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office have sent an indictment to the court against four hospital employees in the Zolochiv district. They are accused of falsifying official documents of a patient. **The investigation established** that in April last year, a family doctor entered data into the electronic system about a supposedly conducted in-person consultation and examination of an 88-year-old woman. In reality, the patient did not visit the medical facility — at that time she was residing in a nursing home.
Based on the fictitious record, the doctor diagnosed her. On the same day, false information about the patient’s consultation was entered by a psychiatrist, who was a member of the medical advisory board. She also established a diagnosis and indicated that the woman required external care. The inaccurate information was submitted to the LKK. After reviewing the forged documents, all members of the commission signed and certified with a seal the medical conclusion. It stated that the patient had cognitive impairments and required external care.
However, the investigation found that the woman had no such impairments. Obtaining a conclusion with false information could have been grounds for establishing guardianship over the woman, which, in turn, would have provided grounds to avoid mobilization by the guardian. All three members of the LKK (including the psychiatrist) are charged with official forgery (Part 1 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), with the family doctor and additionally the psychiatrist charged with document forgery and unauthorized actions with information processed in electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks, or stored on such information media, committed by a person with access to it (Part 1 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 358, Part 1 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
