Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, 15 criminal proceedings have been initiated on the facts of propaganda and justification of war (Article 436, Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Five persons were notified of suspicion of committing a crime, and four persons were referred to court. Three of them have already been sentenced.
In particular, a native of the Donetsk region was sentenced to 3 years in prison, who on his Vkontakte page (the social network is prohibited according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine) recognized the legitimate armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which began in 2014, and also glorified the persons who carried out her.
Also, a native of Ivano-Frankivsk was sentenced to 1 year in prison for publishing materials on her Facebook page in which she justified and denied the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and presented it as an internal civil conflict.
We warn you: anyone who carries out war propaganda or justifies, recognizes as legitimate or denies the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine will bear criminal responsibility.
