A native of Mariupol will be tried for monthly production of about 40 kg of especially dangerous psychotropic “PVP” in his garage
Prosecutors of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office have sent to court an indictment against a 34-year-old native of Mariupol. He is accused of using the proceeds of illicit trafficking in psychotropic substances to continue illicit trafficking in psychotropic substances, illegal manufacture, storage, transportation and sale of a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance in particularly large amounts and illegal purchase and storage of precursors for the purpose of using them to manufacture a psychotropic substance for sale, illegal manufacture and storage of equipment intended for the manufacture of a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance, organisation and
The investigation established that the accused, who had knowledge of the synthesis of chemical compounds, organised the illegal manufacture of a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance “PVP”.
For this purpose, the man rented a garage in Drohobych district and set up a laboratory for the manufacture of the prohibited substance. The “workplace” was equipped with special equipment and tools. The precursors from which the psychotropic was produced were delivered to the defendant by post.
Later, the defendant sold the finished product in the form of so-called “masterclasses” in Western Ukraine.
This drug lab produced approximately 40 kg of PVP on an industrial scale every month.
In addition, he used the money received on his bank account as payment for the psychotropic substance to buy tools and containers used for its manufacture in the laboratory.
The defendant also managed to legalise the funds from the “business” by making a number of purchases in stores and paying for various services.
During the searches of the garage premises, the defendant’s place of residence and car, the SBU found and seized precursors, tools and equipment for the manufacture of a particularly psychotropic substance, electronic scales, mobile phones, SIM cards, bank cards, crystalline and liquid psychotropic substances, as well as other drugs. In particular, about 15 kg of “PVP” manufactured by the man were seized from illicit trafficking.
The accused is currently in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out under the operational support of the SBU Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
