In Lviv district on 5 July a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a bicycle occurred, as a result of which an 11-year-old boy was injured.
The collision happened at around 15:45 in one of the villages of Lviv district. According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, a Loncin motorcycle ridden by a 17-year-old resident of Volyn region collided with a Ragazzi bicycle ridden by a local resident aged 11.
As a result of the collision, the boy cyclist sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators of Police Station No. 2 of Lviv District Police Department No. 1 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
