In Lviv region, customs officers seize Korean cosmetics and pills containing narcotic substances

At the “Krakivets – Korczowa” and “Shehyni – Medyka” crossing points in Lviv region, customs officers together with border guards uncovered breaches of customs regulations while inspecting Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibuses.

At “Krakivets – Korczowa”, a 41-year-old resident of Bukovyna, driving a minibus, chose the simplified customs control lane, the “green corridor”. During the inspection of the vehicle, officers found more than 380 Korean cosmetic products – powders and creams of the brands Medicube, ANUA, Purito Seoul, Numbuzin, Beauty of Joseon, Madagascar Centella and Dr. Althea. The estimated value of the goods is around 360 thousand hryvnias. An administrative report was drawn up in this regard under Part 2 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

In another case, at the “Shehyni – Medyka” crossing point, during the inspection of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus returning to Ukraine, officers discovered 558 tablets containing narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. These included oxazepam, opium, tramadol, codeine and other medicines.

In respect of the driver of this vehicle, a 33-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region, a report on a breach of customs regulations was drawn up under Part 3 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. A notification about the incident, which contains indications of an offence under Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, has been referred to the police.
