At the “Krakivets – Korczowa” border crossing point in Lviv region, customs officers together with border guards seized a large consignment of a medicinal product banned in Ukraine. This was reported by the customs service.
Today, 8 June, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter driven by a 48-year-old resident of Chernivtsi was entering from Poland. During an inspection of the vehicle, officers discovered goods whose movement is prohibited by law.
These were 285 vials of powder for preparing injectable solutions “Refinex” (botulinum toxin type A for therapy). This is an injectable neuromodulator used, in particular, to smooth facial wrinkles and to treat hyperhidrosis.
It is noted that this product has been banned for sale, storage and use by the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control.
In connection with the discovery of the goods, a report was drawn up on a breach of customs regulations under Part 3 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The estimated value of the seized products is 570 thousand hryvnias.
